Kun Liu obtained his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Jilin University in 2001. He then worked with Prof. Bai Yang as a research assistant for two years. In 2003, he went to University of Toronto and did his Ph.D. with Prof. Ian Manners in “highly metallized polymers and their materials applications”. In 2008, as a postdoctoral fellow, he joined Prof. Eugenia Kumacheva’s group in the same department, and developed a quantitative method to characterize, design and predict self-assembly of inorganic nanoparticles. In 2012, he jointed the State Key Laboratory of Supramolecular Structure and Materials, College of Chemistry at Jilin University.
